There are two ways to send messages at scale, and they work very differently. This difference is the core idea behind EventCon.

The old way: A2P

A2P means Application to Person. Twilio and most bulk SMS tools send this way. Carriers know these messages come from software, so they treat them as commercial traffic:
  • Heavy filtering. Industry estimates put blocking at 30 to 60 percent.
  • 10DLC registration. You do weeks of paperwork before you can send.
  • Per-message fees. Every text costs money.
  • A required footer. Every message carries “Reply STOP to opt out.”
Every one of these signals tells the recipient “this is an automated blast,” so they ignore it.

The EventCon way: P2P

P2P means Peer to Peer. EventCon sends from a real device with a real SIM and a real phone number, just as if a person were texting from their own phone.
  • No carrier filter to clear
  • No registration
  • No per-message fee
  • No robotic footer
On an iPhone, the message arrives as a blue iMessage bubble, the same way a text from a friend would. People reply because it feels human.

Legacy broadcasts compared with EventCon AI agents
The difference shows up in ticket revenue, not just technology. Contact the same audience the human way instead of the broadcast way, and far more of them reply.
P2P removes the required “Reply STOP” footer, but you’re still responsible for messaging people who expect to hear from you and for honoring anyone who asks you to stop. See Messaging best practices.
