P2P messaging works because it feels personal. These practices keep it that way and protect the lines you depend on.

Respect your audience

Text people who gave you their number: registrants, buyers, past attendees, and people who asked for information. Don’t buy lists or scrape numbers. Unwanted messages get reported, and reports are what get numbers flagged.
P2P lines don’t add a “Reply STOP” footer, but if someone says “stop”, “remove me”, or “not interested”, stop messaging them and remove them from future campaigns. Tell your AI agent to acknowledge these requests politely and end the conversation.
Texting laws, such as the TCPA in the US, apply no matter which channel you send through. If you’re unsure what consent you need for your audience, check with legal counsel.

Keep your lines healthy

  • Ramp up new lines gradually. Start with smaller batches and increase volume over several days. Smart queueing paces sending for you, so don’t try to work around it.
  • Personalize every opener. Use first names and real context. Hundreds of identical messages look like a blast, even from a real phone.
  • Leave links out of the first message. Ask a question first, and send the link once they reply.
  • Avoid link shorteners like bit.ly. They’re a classic spam signal. Use your own domain.
  • Clean your lists before importing. Remove duplicates, wrong numbers, and anyone who opted out.
  • Watch your reply rate. If replies drop off suddenly, slow down and review your opener and list.

Keep your agents sharp

  • Review conversations weekly in the Inbox. Every awkward reply points to a gap in the agent’s brief.
  • One goal per agent. Selling tickets, booking calls, and answering support questions are three different jobs.
  • Never let the agent guess. Tell it to hand off to a human rather than invent prices, dates, or policies.
  • Keep event facts current. Update the agent when prices, dates, or availability change.

Stay topped up and online

  • Watch your AI credits before big launches, and turn on auto-reload.
  • Keep your card up to date in Billing so lines don’t lapse at renewal.
